About Costa Rica's Caribbean Coast
Lowland area with rainforests and banana plantations.
Afro-Caribbean culture.
The northern Caribbean coast is only accessible by boat
or airplane. Tortuguero National Park is located on the
northern Caribbean coast and its main attractions
are riverboat trips and observing sea turtles.
Towns in the southern region of the Caribbean coast include
Cahuita, Manzanillo, and Puerto Viejo. That area has
beautiful beaches and not many large hotels.
The Caribbean coast of Costa Rica is bordered by the
Nicaraguan coast in the north and the Panamanian Coast
in the south.
