Running Marathons in Greenland
Arctic Circle Skiing Race
Race across the Sisimiut countryside on the west coast
of Greenland, approximately 65 kilometers north of the
Arctic Circle. The total distance of the race is 160
kilometers and it takes place over three days.
Two shorter distance races are held at the same time,
a 100 kilometer race and a mini race for young people.

Greenland Adventure Race
This five day, multi-sport adventure race aross South Greenland
takes place in September. Two person teams participate in
several stages that include running, abseiling (rappeling),
mountain biking, and kayaking..
Arctic Midnight Orienteering
Annual, multiple-day event organized by Ilulissat Orienteering Greenland (IOG) club
that takes place in Llulissat, during the summer months, usually in June or July.
Arctic Palerfik Dog Sledding Race
Annual, 3-day dog sledding race in Ilulissat that usually
includes more then 100 sleds, 200 participants, and about
1000 sled dogs. Usually takes place in April.

2002 Arctic Winter Games
In 2002 the Arctic Winter Games took place March 17-23
in Nuuk, Greeland and in Iqaluit, Nunavut. Included sports
and events included basketball, curling, dog mushing,
gymnastics, ice hockey, speedskating, wrestling, Dene Games,
and Inuit Games.
