Chihuahua-Pacific Railway (El Chepe)

also known as the Chihuahua-Pacific Railway
or simply "El Chepe". The railway connects
the city of Chihuahua to the port of Topolobampo
in the city of Los Mochis, Mexico The
railway route is more then 400 miles long,
it passes through the Copper Canyon, and it
includes 37 bridges, 86 tunnels, and
rises as high as 7900 feet above sea level.
A one way trip takes about 16 hours and
there are about 15 official stops on the route.

in the early 1960's
Sierra Madres Express
The Sierra Madress Express offers Copper Canyon
tours originating in Tucson Arizona. They have
six rail cars, including a domed dining and observation
car with open decks. The tours are 8 days long
and they include overnights on the train and overnights
at hotels along the route.
