My favorite appetizer cheese spread is made
with cheddar , Swiss cheese, garlic,
dry mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and beer.
Beer Cheese Ingredients
- 1/2 pound of shredded Cheddar cheese
- 1/2 pound of shredded Swiss cheese
- 2 cloves of garlic, sieved
- 1/2 teaspoon of dry mustard
- 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 cup of beer
- Cocktail size dark pumpernickel bread (optional)
Beer Cheese Instructions
Mix the shredded cheese with the garlic,
mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Gradually
beat in the beer until the cheese is of
spreading consistency. Use an electric
mixer if you want the cheese spread to
be very smooth. Store the beer cheese in the
refrigerator. At serving time, bring the spread
to room temperature and serve it spread on cocktail
size dark pumpernickel bread slices, crackers, or
vegetable slices.
