Gueydan Duck Festival
Annual, multiple day, duck-theme festival
usually held in August, the weekend
before Labor Day weekend.
The festival features carival rides and duck themed
events such as a duck and goose calling contest,
wooden duck head carving and painting demonstrations,
a cooking contest, a festival queen pageant,
a skeet shooting competition, and live conerts.
Takes place on ten acres
of land adjancent to the fairgrounds in
the town of Gueydan, Louisiana
