The most central and most populated region of Costa Rica and the region in which the national capital city of San Jose and the main international airport are located. Rolling hills between 3,000 and 4,000 feet high surrounded by higher mountains including four volcanos, two of which are still active: the Poas Volcano and the Irazu Volcano. Mild climate all year.
