Disco Island
Large island in Baffin Bay, off the west coast of Greenland,
north of Disko Bay. Qeqertarsuag (Godhavn in Danish)
was once a base for whalers and some historians believe
even longer ago it was a Viking base for summer hunting and fishing.
Disco Island is also the home of a University of Copenhagen research station
for studying Arctic biology and ecology.
Northeast Greenland National Park
Note that special permission must be obtained from the Government
of Greenland to visit the Northeast Greenland National Park and
to conduct expeditions to remote areas in Greenland.

United States air base in the Qaasuitsup municipality
in Northern Greenland. Located nearly 700 miles north
of the Arctic Circle and about 950 miles from the North
Pole.
