The Bay Islands consist of three geographically separate
groups of Honduran islands, administered collectively
under the Bay Islands Department of the Honduran Government.
Islas de la Bahia
Includes Roatan Island, Utuila Island, and the
less frequently visited Guanaja Island.
Cayos Cochoinos
Includes two main islands, Cayo Grande and Cayo Menor,
and thirteen smaller coral cays.
inside a marine protected area managed by the
Honduran Coral Reef Foundation. The protected reef is
the Meso-American Barrier Reef.
Swan Islands
Includes three mostly uninhabited islands:
Great Swan Island, Little Swan Island, and Bobby Cay.
